Facts and figures
In collaboration with local conservationists and ornithologists from all over the world, EuroNatur started already 20 years ago to carry out extensive field studies in order to collect data about bird hunting on the Balkans. There is an increasing archive on the topic with established facts and figures as well as eye-witness accounts on bird hunting in Albania, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Slovenia.

The main focus of the Adriatic Flyway conference lied on the protection of migratory birds along the Adriatic Flyway. It took place 14-18 April 2009 in Ulcinj, Montenegro, and was organised by EuroNatur in collaboration with various partners. The journey across the Adriatic Sea and the search for appropriate resting areas is like running the gauntlet for migratory birds. The situation is tense – but there is still reason to hope. From 12th to 15th March 2009, EuroNatur initiated a tour for a small group of bird watchers along the Adriatic East Coast, namely to places in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro and Albania. The team was shocked by the illegal hunting activities and the disturbances in the protected areas visited.
