Wolves on their way to Slovenia

Once again wolves move from Croatia to Slovenia. However, thus far they are mostly found wandering in Slovenia's southern regions, despite the fact that they would find an ideal home in the North, in the Julian Alps. According to Italian wolf specialists the entire south-eastern alpine region offers prime habitats for wolves. From those areas they could also recolonise the northern Alps. However, there are as yet very few wolves to be found in the south-eastern alpine region. With its Karst Project in Slovenia and Croatia, EuroNatur therefore aims to create a migration corridor between the Dinaric Mountains and the Triglav National Park to allow the wolves to find their way from Croatia to the Slovenian Alps.
