Winner of the photo contest in Montenegro
© Gavrilo KneževićPicturesque water landscapes, stunning mountains, and diverse wildlife. For the second photo contest “Balkan Green Belt”, once again numerous nature-lovers set out to look for photo subjects and to capture the beauty of the region along the former Iron Belt in impressive pictures.
Recently, the first countries published their prize-winning photographs:

A total of eight photo contests in the countries along the Balkan Green Belt are part of a project supported by the German Federal Environmental Foundation to promote the protection of this valuable European natural and cultural heritage. It aims at strengthening awareness among the population for the unique biotope network of the Balkan Green Belt.
