Lead gunshot will finally be banned across the EU
A major success for nature and bird conservation in Europe: the European Parliament has paved the way for an EU-wide ban on lead shot. Following years of intensive work by nature conservation organisations such as EuroNatur and their partners, this will put an end to one of the biggest sources of lead pollution in Europe’s natural environment.

Experts sound the alarm
On World Migratory Bird Day, Tour du Valat, EuroNatur and BirdLife International are raising the alarm over the scale of illegal killing and trapping of migratory birds across the Mediterranean. Illegal construction work threatens the Vjosa-Narta protected area
Serious environmental damage is currently taking place in the Vjosa-Narta protected area in Albania. Since the end of April, bulldozers and excavators have been operating in the core area of the protected landscape, clearing coastal forests, removing dunes and cutting new access roads through previously untouched habitats.
