Jörg Nitsch holds a diploma in biology and is head of the specialist section on the environment  in the Offenbach administrative district. He has been active in environmental and nature conservation initiatives for many years now.

A member of BUND (Friends of the Earth Germany) since 1981 he has represented the Hessen State association in a number of committees. Since 2008 he has also been a member of the national board and chairman of the advisory board of BUND.
Jörg Nitsch has been associated with EuroNatur for many years. And for years too, together with Lutz Ribbe, EuroNatur's policy director for nature conservation, he has been campaigning for a more ecologically sound agricultural policy.

In his own words: ”I have been following EuroNatur's activities with lively interest from its founding years. I am very keen on the cross-border approach to nature conservation and as member of its board I want to give my active support to EuroNatur for their development and implementation of projects to protect the unique natural world of Europe.”
