Nine EuroNatur partner organisations had appealed to local and visiting photographers in the states bordering the Balkan Green Belt to capture the beauty of the region along the former Iron Curtain in impressive pictures.

The photo competitions in Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro,
Romania, Serbia and Turkey form part of a project supported by Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (German Federal Environmental Foundation) for the protection of this valuable European natural and cultural heritage.
