Silvana Mielke loves photography. “I’m always on the lookout for moments in life that may seem small but stir a whole lot in me.” She likes her shots to tell stories and spark something in the viewer. Since summer 2025, she is doing this as EuroNatur’s Social Media and Content Manager.

A degree in multimedia and communications, focusing on film and TV journalism, is Silvana Mielke’s basis for her work. She has always liked being outdoors; a camper van trip through Canada has fixed the native Franconian’s fascination for unspoilt nature and wildlife.

After having done her degree, Silvana worked first for a Swiss science magazine, then for MaxCine, the centre for communication and exchange at the Max Planck Institute in Möggingen. Eventually, she found it tempting to switch from science to conservation communication. At EuroNatur, she is in charge of our social media feeds, putting emotion-focused, partially self-produced content from our projects online, thus allowing thousands of followers access to our topics.

“After completing my studies, I made a conscious decision not to create consumer content,” says Silvana Mielke. “I wanted to use my skills for something meaningful and long-term. This is just what EuroNatur offers me and here, I can give free reign to my creativity.”
