Two decades of scientific research, cross-border cooperation and hope for Europe’s rarest cat species
Twenty years ago, the ‘Balkan Lynx Recovery Programme’ (BLRP) was launched to address the critical conservation status of the Balkan lynx (Lynx lynx balcanicus), one of Europe’s rarest wild cats.
To mark the programme’s 20th anniversary, EuroNatur cordially invites you to join us for a webinar on 19 October 2026 at 6.30 pm CET. Come and meet some of our partners and reflect with us on two decades of nature conservation work. You’ll also have the chance to learn about the challenges and opportunities that still lie before us regarding the recovery of the Balkan lynx.
The webinar will take place on Microsoft Teams. We recommend joining via a laptop or PC. If you wish to join using a smartphone or tablet, you will need to install the Microsoft Teams app beforehand. Once you have registered, you will receive an automatic confirmation email. This email will include a link to join the webinar.

Now in its 20th year, the BLRP is one of the longest-running nature conservation programmes in the Balkans. These 20 years have only been possible thanks to the commitment of many dedicated people who have never stopped believing in a vision of the Balkan lynx surviving – not just today or tomorrow, but for the next 50 or 100 years. We have achieved a great deal, yet the population remains fragile and still needs our support to ensure that this vision becomes real.
